Ah, I knew you when you were still Van. Here’s a cherished memory:
The dance meetings were at the Theological Seminary in San Anselmo at this time. Murshid was to lead a couples dance, Krishna, Ram I think. I badly wanted to dance, but my then- husband worked evenings at the time and I had no partner. Val gave me his arm and squired me for the dance, altho he surely had another female companion for the evening. It was such a kind and noble, selfless giving. I believe he did live his whole life in this fana.
May you sit at the right hand now, dear one.

It was probably 1974 when Ammon was very young -close to 3-
that we moved into the Novato house next door to Hassan and
Jayanara where I shared a kitchen with Abdul Haqq and Shems
Peterson. I remember singing with Shems, and hearing in regularity
Abdul Hag’s powerful Sufi recitations- since our rooms shared a
wall. Good company. Good times After a few months Ammon and I
moved into the Garden of Allah with Shabda. I also remember the
Morocco time (in the picture above) we were all there at the Sidi
Chiker World Meeting in 2009. Ya Fattah, Abdul Haq, Ya Fattah! Love to you, Zahira.
