Merybehn Peller, one of Murshid’s first mureeds and an artist and poet, died Thursday February 25, 2010 at Petaluma Valley Hospital. She had been very ill for about 3 weeks.
She died surrounded by numerous pictures of Murshid dancing and smiling. Fatima had brought full size posters of Murshid and Pir Vilayat to brighten the hospital room walls, and she was so grateful. One of Fatima’s posters of the Garden of Inayat was also on the wall at her bedside.
Ah Merybehn…. I’ll meet you in the Garden. Love Shekinah
for Merybehn
“You are ‘there’, I ‘here’. Worlds separate us,
Death’s angels, the void of space…
Yet I say your name, and waves of Light
Wash to me silently from your Heart.”
– Jalal-ud-Din Rumi
We are one in dust and One in Glory!
My first Sufi teacher, thank you Merybehn for bestowing your love and light I hold you dear in my heart. I am so grateful for having known you. Many Blessings on whatever plane of existence you revolve in.
