Birth Date November 7, 1978 URS August 16, 2009
Jacob Wentworth Duncan-Bull passed from this life to the next on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Born in Moscow, Idaho on November 7, 1978, Jacob graduated from Moscow High School and quickly moved on to other adventures. He lived in Maui for a year, took up residence in Bellingham, and spent time in Portland. But Seattle was where he made his home. He took classes at Seattle Central Community College, met friends who shared his passion for skateboarding and music, learned the skills that enabled him to become an electrician, and explored the deeper meanings of life with his friends and Sufi community.
Jacob was deeply loved. He was generous with his time and was there for others. He believed in tolerance for all people and was deeply moved by injustice. He had a deep connection to the spiritual world through his Sufi roots. Jacob was quick to smile, play a game, and say a kind word.
Jacob is supported in the unseen world by a large community of friends, relatives, and family. They honor his life with their remembrances of a man who has touched their hearts as a son, a grandson, a nephew, an uncle, a cousin, and a friend.
Jacob is survived by his parents Samia (Suzanne) Bull-Pelfrey and Frank Pelfrey; his biological father Brady Duncan; grandparents Dorothy and Gary Duncan; brothers and sisters Sean and Sara Pelfrey, Bevin and Aubin Duncan, Becky Keller, and Terry McGuffy; and his long-time friend and companion Meghan Palin.
Jacob was part of many circles including his Sufi community in the Pacific Northwest. He attended weekend and week-long Sufi events as a youth and then as an adult bringing his humor, playfulness, and pure heart.
In this spirit, we ask that any donations you wish to make can be made in honor of Jacob Duncan-Bull to Northwest Sufi Camp; mail to Northwest Sufi Camp, c/o Munira Love, Treasurer, 3330 California Street, Eureka, CA 95503.
On this evening of August 13th. 2012, I am remembering you Jacob. August 2009 was the last time I saw you. We were all at NWSC & I met you on the path as I was carrying my camping gear to the car on the last day of camp.
You smiled & looked down, as you walked down toward camp, & then you touched your heart. I was very moved, to the point of tears as I drove out of camp. This memory of you I hold clearly, yet we all learned that Sunday night that you had passed through the west gate.
This LOVE that continues.
Wopila, thank you
Nurjamila
Thank you for your life, beloved one of God.
