2 Memories for “Isaac Rivers”

  1. on 26 Nov 2012 at 7:51 pm1Susannah Grover

Ike Rivers was a gentle giant and a truly beautiful soul. He could speak truth from his heart to yours / mine and you’d know it when you had the good fortune to encounter him. Ike wore these big shoes and I remember wearing them once when he came to my home. I learned so much about grounded presence walking in those shoes. I am forever grateful to this understated being. I learned much from watching the beautiful realm he created around him, Karen and Cheri. A truly Renaissance soul, or as Shabda quoted at Ike’s memorial service, ‘He built worlds before breakfast.’ Some of those worlds are alive in my heart even today. Ya Hu!

Isaac had great beauty and magnetism. His loving presence generated great unity and calm abiding. Our girls enjoyed time together at Mendocino Sufi camp as youngsters.
