Dear Friends,
Please add to your lists Pat Hakima Segner of Chicago, a longtime mureed and healing conductor in the Chicago area for Ya Salaamo. Hakima passed away in her home last night (Friday). Her two sons were with her. Her husband is in the hospital unfortunately.
An indomitable, indefatigable presence in the lives of all who knew her, Hakima was a leader in her local Unitarian church and served for many years as the chair of its board.
Although those of us who knew her well recognised that she was nearing the end of her time in this body, she kept on keeping on, even attending the recent online retreat I did for Sufi students.
She was, quite simply, one of the real human beings I have met.
May the One preserve her secret, and those of us who knew her keep her memory alive in our own love and joy!
