On Thursday, June 20th, shortly before midnight, Mom, Barbara, set off on her last journey. With the power of the summer solstice and the full moon, she bravely made her way across the rainbow bridge. We are very grateful that Mom was able to walk in peace, alone, in her sleep, and very quickly. Touched and nourished by the last encounters with our mother, we now let this wonderful woman, mother and friend move on in love. It’s a gift that the three of us were able to spend the rest of the night with Mom and care for her lovingly.
With love,

From Gita Sophia Onnen:
Barbara Shechina Küng died on the night of the summer solstice – went home into the light. We prayed for her at Murid Zoom yesterday. YA SALAMO – may her soul be at peace. During her last weeks in the hospice, I was able to accompany her by telephone, our prayers and prayers together and conversations were a great gift! We became so aware of the preciousness of life!
The common sentence that we spoke and breathed together during this time was: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DIVINE WILL IS PEACE. Feeling this great peace has also helped her make peace with her life – just as it was: with all highs and lows, with all imperfections and perfections –
Barbara Shechina is a great light in our dance family with her special talent, songs and dances “To receive from the cosmos” and to translate this into dances with her musical talent. Saadi Neil Douglas-Klotz was her teacher who accompanied her. Shortly before her death, when she was already very weak she asked me to thank him from the bottom of her heart for his support and his work.
We are connected to her in one big heart, her Shechina light also shines from eternity. Barbara Shechina lives on in her songs and dances, even during the phase of her illness came through her and which she gave to some of us – as a legacy for our dance family. We would also like to thank Cathy Asha Nuri from the bottom of our hearts for her many visits together Barbara Shechina’s creative impulses have come true – for all of us.
With her wonderful CD “Light in the Day and in the Night”, which she released 15 years ago together with her two daughters and friends, she will continue to touch us deeply and share with us her mystical realization. She was always in service to the divine, which was her humanity deeply penetrated. She leaves behind three wonderful children, all of whom follow in her footsteps and are also fond of music.
Thank you, dear Barbara Shechina, for your great love and your blessings, which have flowed so abundantly. In telephone conversations with me, you repeatedly emphasized that you love and bless us all.
Today I am very sad – for us it is a great loss – and for her it is a great relief after almost 3 years of serious illness. She was fully conscious until the end; it wasn’t until the day before her death that she didn’t want to get up anymore eat more – and could no longer make phone calls. – Her remarkable alertness and her open, loving heart still gifted us with many heartfelt, surprising encounters, THANK YOU!
Beloved Barbara Shechina, you continue to live in us in the here and now in the one being – that was important to you –
With great love and gratitude Gita Sophia Onnen Berlin, Germany
Our beloved sister, colleague and friend Barbara Fatima Shechina Küng is on her way home now. Barbara Shechina has been from the very early times when the dances and then later the blessing of our lineage has been seeded in the German speaking region the main representative in Switzerland. She was an ongoing source of inspiration, courage and grace for so many and I presume in a way that was not clear to her due to her deep humility. She has been the main channel for a wide repertoire of exquisite dances many of them not being published yet. She leaves a legacy for all generations to come with the depth she seeded through her music and sweet being. Her life was not an easy one, nor was her illness over the last months but throughout, her music brought forth the angelic spheres. I can see all angels applaud and welcome her home now.
Please if you wish, listen to one of her musical gifts in our dance archive „in dem Garten meines Herzens“ – a song and dance she created for her daughter Muriel who passed away at the age of about 14.
“In the garden of my heart, I find you near the source, where all flowers blossom and all nights glow. Isc Allah mahbud Lila Ja Habib Allah“
All those of us who met her and were impressed and deeply touched by all the gifts she brought us will continue to be blessed by her musical gifts and all sweet memories. We meet her in the garden. I am very sad for my and our loss, I am grateful for the treasures she left us. It’s good to know that her physical pain came to an end and she is flying free. In this garden she will wait for us for more singing and more dancing. Beloved one……YA SHAKUR!!!!

“To all of our friends… Barbara was an enlightened high soul… Her heart and soul was only love and light, music and dance.. she was a very wise woman…a very honest true person. She believed in people and in God, with her whole being. I’m very sure she sits with the righteous and saintly in the other world.. I love her still very much… We will certainly feel her love and protection in the coming weeks and years. And Barbara was brave, courageous and without despair.. God bless her and her children, students and friends She will walk with us into the future. Love to all from Rabbi Yehoshua Witt/ Jerusalem „

In dem Garten meines Herzens ….. .
