7 Memories for “Zariah Geraldine Baron”

Geraldine was my Spiritual mentor. She helped me to see into others as well as see into myself. She was loving, giving and caring. Geraldine taught me about staying on the path and to always look for God’s light that was the bright part of us all. I will miss her deeply.

I didn’t know that Zariah had joined the angels – or more likely, the Djinn. Wow! This great performer/teacher is now acting on the larger Stage. We spent time together in Suresnes, and were roommates at an Italian Alps camp – shared our lives, loves, had some good wine at the Lodge, and had some good laughs, especially when we discovered we shared some old friends in the theater community in far less than the usual 6 degrees of separation.

Ms. Dean was a kind, gentle, and hilarious woman. I knew her in the early Seventies; she was partnered with a director I was working with at Warner Bros. They invited me over for dinner at their place in the Hollywood Hills. It was the first of many. What I remember most is her generosity of spirit, her etherial beauty, how good she smelled, her laugh, and how skilled she was on their pinball machine.

Geraldine Baron, my acting teacher who opened a world of possibilities for me in my twenties. By her example I seriously embarked on the journey of becoming myself. I will always remember her for that.

Today, I was making a pasta sauce and into my head came the very clear voice of Geraldine saying, Put a cover on it. The flavors won’t blend if it’s not covered.
She approached life that way too. How do we bring all of our senses and energy to the circle and let it mix with all that’s there?
I wish I could call her.

What a spirit Geraldine had! She was one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met and I have so many wonderful memories of her. I still think of her often and will be forever grateful for her friendship. She may be out of the body but will never be forgotten by her many friends.

Geral-eddin as I would call her in commemoration of her beloved Jallal-eddin Rumi was my acting teacher and lifelong friend. With a wink of her magical eyes she would transgress the limits you had installed for yourself and take you way beyond to where your heart was longing to be – even unbeknownst to your little self. And there, on the peak of your true Being, she would be already awaiting you for a good laugh and a hug from her big generous Heart.
