In 1976, Sarala was initiated into the Sufi Order by Pir Vilayat. She served for a time in the late 1970’s as the leader of the Phoenix Sufi Center. Sarala was an Abode family member where she lived in the early 1980’s and was the director of the Aegis Seminar Program. She attended Regis University and in 2000 received an M.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on the Mind/Body relationship. From the 1990’s, she lived in the Southern Oregon mountains with her husband and her Samoyeds. Sarala’s life was an affirmation of Oneness and the Sufi Message. Someday, if you visit the community of Williams and climb stunning Mt. Grayback, you will find her there amid the love, harmony, and beauty.

Sarala was a bright generous spirit. We may have met at the Ocate 10 day Gathering. She spontaneously loaned me her car for the summer in Santa Fe when she was going to Aegis/Abode! She left a beautiful trail of kindness, light and beauty.
