The Passing Of A Beloved Mentor and Spiritual Advisor. Dr. H.J. Witteveen, Murshid Karimbakhsh, born June 12, 1921 in Zeist-The Netherlands, sat down for his evening meditation on April 23, 2019 and gently released his soul from captivity into Infinite Love, Harmony, and Beauty. In his passing he offers a beautiful example of the grace of a noble life. Murshid Karimbakhsh grew up in a Sufi family, and from an early age he was inspired by the wisdom of Sufism. Initiated at the age of 18, he made a lifelong study of the Sufi Message, combining his inner life with his business activities. In his lifelong service as an economist he held esteemed positions such as: Minister of Finance–The Netherlands, one of the principle economists and conceptual architects of the European Union and unifying monetary currency– he viewed the EU as ‘Sufism in Action’. He was a founding member of the IMF (International Monetary Fund), author of numerous books on ‘Universal Sufism’ applied to everyday life, and the visionary and founding member of the Universal Sufi Council & Peace Pledge Project. His service and gifts to the Sufi Message are too numerous to list here; however, it should be mentioned that his legacy includes the negotiations, construction, and maintenance of the Dargah of Hazrat Inayat Khan in New Delhi-India, and Murad Hassil Universel Soefi Temple in the dunes of the North Sea in Katwijk-Netherlands. |
