Blessings for your onward journey, Bari! I remember some very early times together when you were still in Oakland. Then, later, you migrated toward Portland… Peace!
Omigosh I am surprised… Bari had called and left me a message in 2020 and I kept forgetting to call him back, then sent him an email saying I’d get in touch so we had a brief exchange via cyberspace. Now I am so very sorry I didn’t call him; I was swamped myself…
We lived together at Noor Mahal for about three years. It was a tumultuous time to live with Murshid Moineddin while he thought he was dying, and then up and flew the coop and healed himself in Hawaii. I think it was difficult for Bari to learn to live with a big group as it was for all of us, along with surrender to hierarchy with which we had little familiarity, though daily practices held us together and reminded us of our purpose.
I am happy that Bari had found love, as he’d posted, and so sorry that it was such a short relationship relatively. Blessings on you, brother.
Out of curiosity, I looked up Bari’s name on the internet (I was his professional home organizer in 2018-2020) and was quite saddened to see he had passed on December 25th of 2020. Such a loss.
Bari was a lovely man and a joy to work with during our organizing sessions together.
I sort of recalled his longstanding connection with the Sufi community and am pleased there’s a remembrance page in his honor.
Truly, Bari was one of my favorite clients! You’ll be missed, Bari!
