Birthdate: October 18, 1948 URS date September 29, 2007
Khair-un-nisa Harriet Hall was born 18 October 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia (U.S.A.) Many in the Sufi Order will remember her from her days at the Khanq’a in NYC and various activities held at the Abode of the Message in New Lebanon, NY. She was an actress who played Andrea Moore on NBC’s daytime “Sommerset,” had leads in “Tribes” for FOX, “The Witching of Ben Wagner” for Disney, and “Foxfire” for CBS/Hallmark. She died of a sudden heart attack in Chatsworth, Georgia, a few weeks before her 59th birthday. Harriet had lived on both coasts before her last role in “The Diaries of Adam and Eve” with David Birney, and between spiritual journeys to India and the Middle East. She was equally at home on stage or screen, classic or contemporary. Her finest, certainly her funniest, performances were her impersonations of her Southern family. Her older brother, Davis Hall (born in Atlanta in 1946) is an actor, director and writer and the two appeared together in Hugh Leonard’s world premiere of Summer (1974) and as brother and sister with Celeste Holm in Hay Fever (1980). Harriet retired from acting when her back problems became chronic. Davis Hall has created a memorial page for his sister which may be viewed at:

Khair-un-nisa was a joy to know and to love, so full of life, aso alive to everything and everyone that she touched and that touched her. I remember her bathing her face in sunlight with such relish and delight, a gift she brought to many.
