Tom was a great friend, a great cook, and the best guy to have around for movie night. We shall miss him.
Namaste
Tom/ Ayaz was a beloved warm caring soul. One of his gifts was being fully present to whomever he was with. His ability to create haiku poems spontaneously was amazing. We shared time together at Sufi gatherings over several years including identifying constellations in the starry skies.
You are part of the heavens now, dear one.
Unbeknownst to him, I wrote him this poem
last summer.
Your eyes sparkle,
Your smile invites,
Your gentle ways move my heart.
May your soul rest in peace, beloved of god.
Love and light,
Sherifa
Dear brother Tom Ayaz.
We will miss you. You have been a steady friend and member of our extended NE Sufi and Dance community for many years now, attending camps and retreats here in the Boston area as well as retreats that we led elsewhere. We will remember your warmth and humor, spontaneity, and adventurousness, always willing to lend a hand, and ear, listening deeply to the inner call, both from within yourself and from within others. Your calling of the conch will blow forever in our hearts! A call to Wake Up and Love!
We were impressed that you sometimes came to retreats with your fellow triplet brothers, so alike to each other, yet each of you so different. It has been a treat to know you in every way. Ya Hayyo Ya Qayyum
Peace Peace Peace Dear Brother.
love forever, Halima and Abraham
You were a brother of my soul. I will miss you and remember you always, dear Ayaz. Ya Salaam
Your ability to be present and wholly engaged is such a gift. My last camp experience with you was of receiving a welcome hug that fully surrounded my inner and outer being. Thanks for your camping spot that year, Tom Ayaz. We both seemed to think a spot that was between the yurt and the Mother Mary statue was “prime real estate”. May you continue to blow your conch on your new journey.
Peace and Love
Such a brief encounter we had when you stayed down my way in Austin, so long ago. We somehow managed to talk about me more than you and never really hit the big ticket items. Yet somehow I remember every minute of contact and it is because you were like that: light filled and full of spark and sparkle. We all missed you when your classes were over and you returned home. Now we miss you knowing it will be awhile, though you are never forgotten. Keep on biking and grooving on music.
Peace and Love
